Sit or stand straight, making sure that the spine is help in good posture.
Inhale a Complete Breath. Allow your body to become rigid with the buttocks tight and feet firmly on the ground.
As you inhale raise both straight arms simultaneously, palms downwards, slowly moving the arms outward from the sides until the back of the hands touch above the head. Lock the thumbs together if you can and make sure that you are still standing firmly on the ground.
Retain the breath for a couple of seconds.
Now lower the hands to 45 degrees, exhaling a little air vigorously through the whistling lip gesture. You should look like you are making a V sign with your arms upwards.
Lower the arms a little more until they are level with the shoulders while you vigorously exhale some more.
Then lower again a little and let more breath escape, keeping the body and chest firm al the while.
As your arms reach your sides now, breathe out the last of the air by pressing the abdomen inward.
Begin by doing the cycle three times and slowly build up until you are able to do seven cycles.
In the final position, stand reverently and relaxed, head bowed forward but body maintaining good posture.
Work with affirmations and awareness to make the life force your healing.
“Nose breathing leads to Life: Mouth breathing leads to death” Edward J. Dingle
Many people breathe through their mouth and for those who take in most of their breaths this way, especially when they are sleeping, often awake in the morning feeling tired and un-refreshed.
When we breathe through our nostrils we are creating two streams or currents which bring life force into our system. There is a positive and a negative charge that comes from the nostril breaths.
The right nostril – (Pingala):
With every inhalation through the right nostril a positive electrical current flows down the right side of the spine. This energy is the heating energy or solar energy. The reaction is beneficial to the nervous system. The right side of the body is under the positively charged influence – corresponding to the East.
The left nostril – (Ida):
With every inhalation through the left nostril a negative current flows down the left side of the spine. This is the cooling or lunar energy. The reaction is beneficial for the blood system. The left side of the body is under negative influence – corresponding to the West.
The lungs are then charged with the positive energy and the negative energy – this bringing balance, flow and harmony to the body.
Dominant Left Nostril Breathers:
This person tends to appear bloodless, listless, heavy and lacks ambition. Is sleepy and may even have a slightly larger left nostril.
Dominant Right Nostril Breathers:
This person tends to be quick-tempered, nervy, irritable, anaemic, and always striving to do more than is reasonably possible. This person tends to suffer with poor health and may view the world from the perspective that “everything is wrong in the world” or have a strong sense of being a victim of life.
The Balanced Breather:
This person tends to be calm, confident and happy. This person believes that life is working for him and not against him. She is able to see the good in others and is full of abounding energy. This person displays poise and power and is strong in both mind and body.
NEVER APOLOGISE FOR BLOWING AND CLEARING YOUR NOSE. IT IS THE DOORWAY TO YOUR HEALTH AND WELL-BEING.
1.Place the middle finger of the right hand on your forehead, the position between the eyebrows.
2.Close the left nostril gently with your little finger and breathe in fully through the right nostril.
3.Close the right nostril with your thumb and breathe out the left nostril.
4.Breath in the left nostril – keeping your thumb closing the right nostril.
5.Close the left nostril and breathe out the right nostril.
Keep alternating conscious breaths in and out each nostril. Relax as you do this.
For those who struggle to get to sleep, this exercise will help enormously to slow the body down to rhythmic flow and aid sleep.
Imagine having lessons on Breathing. Seems so silly! So let’s see how much you know on this subject:
We need to breathe to live. (oh how horribly obvious is that! Surely we all know this).
The best breathers live the longest and get the most out of life.
Breath is Life
The infant breath intake in this orb of earth is the first of all the breaths that will mark the journey of the person towards their last breath in this pod.
Breathing is our MOST important function and yet so few of us stop and give this function the slightest attention. All survival of our outer and inner being relies on the quality of the breath with which we nourish our bodies. Our physical and mental health; our happiness and self-control, our view point and perspective of life and our morale, all depend on the breath. Our blood needs this air to purify and cleanse our system. With proper breathing our physical appearance changes, lines leave our face and the body seems to be more balanced and well.
“God made man and breathed into him an immortal soul” . ..”breathed into his nostrils the Breath of Life”.
The air we breathe has this Vital Force, Absolute Energy, the Essence of Life, it is all around us, connecting one life force to another, a Divine Thread that holds us in Life. This Life Force is the energy that the Soul uses. This Vital Force is not oxygen or air, it is contained within the air. Should we breathe in air that has none of this Life Force, we would die.
As we breathe with Conscious Awareness, we can take in this Vital Life Force and use it as Energy. We can even store this Energy and in so doing create a power storage system within us.
Air, Life Force, Vital Energy is FREE.
Just as the body uses the oxygen in the air for the blood and circulatory system, so the Vital Energy Force that is within the air, is carried to the nervous system, adding strength and vitality to the person – their every thought, deed and action, every muscle, nerve and fibre in the body relies upon this Force.
We are how we breathe.
As we breathe so do we think as we think so we create as we create in Awareness
we bring Light and Love Let your breath be your Life
Let your Life be a Blessing to all Beings
If you have become aware of the need to work with energy in your own life or perhaps assist others in gaining alignment in their life then you might like to consider a workshop like this …
What is Healing Therapy?
Healing Therapy is the gentle art of using the hands to direct energy to help relieve pain, release blockages, promote relaxation and restore the natural balance and flow of energy within the system. This non-intrusive process makes use of visualizations, relaxation and affirmations to help you access your own healing potential and bring the mind, body and soul into alignment. When we find this inner state of awareness we are better able to manage our lives, regardless of the life situation.
How does it work?
Information is processed and stored in different areas of the brain and for this reason, sometimes talk therapy alone does not enable us to access trauma or painful memories. This therapy helps to connect and bring about congruency in all our systems in a gentle way that diminishes the chances of re-traumatising the mind and body. When this happens, healing follows.

Stress and the Brain:
Connecting thought and emotions are the subtle act of awareness that allows us to find our way through the confusion, disappointment, and the overwhelm of our lives.
This workshop will give us a view of the workings of the brain and how we can regain control, or at least find inner peace in the process. Emotional Intelligence gives us the ability to view our reactions and the courage to change them when needed. We will be “drawing” on our emotions, (no artistic talent needed), and examining Boyatzi’s formula as a tool for changing thinking and patterns that no longer serve us.
Participants to please bring an A4 notebook, pens and pencils
Each session will include a guided meditation. Please dress comfortably in loose-fitting clothes so that you can feel relaxed.

Walking on the beach I see the footsteps forming behind my path. I look back and see that the line of steps is not in a straight line, even though I thought I was walking a direct route. The pathway curves gently around the slight impressions of the sand mounds. I was not even aware that I had been following the contours of the earth.
I walk now with a sense of purpose, placing each foot gently on the earth. Where the sand is hard and unyielding the steps are barely visible and where the sand is soft, I see my mark pressed into the ground. I understand that the world can be like the sand. Soft and yielding at times, allowing me to leave an impression that is well formed and noticeable. At other times, the earth is hard and unrelenting. I have still travelled that way yet the mark I leave is known only to me, so slight is it.
The wind blows towards me and lifts my hair and my spirits, bringing in the smell of the ocean. The breath of life. I breathe it in through my nostrils, recharging my energy and my soul. The wind dances on the sand and lifts the edges from the footprints, smoothing the indentations and sometimes covering them up entirely. Still, I know that I walked that way.
I stop to see, to breathe, to rest a while. My prints are behind me and not yet made ahead of me. I see the expanse of clear sand washed beach and feel the tingle of anticipation realizing that the steps I am to take from this moment on are the ones I wish to make. From this point of pause I can decide which direction I choose to walk; how firmly I intend to place my feet; how far I intend to take myself along the route.
All the while around me the air is changing; the wind the light, and the scenery. It might be the same place it was moments before, but now it looks different. I am aware of the ever-changing, moving and shifting of the atmosphere. As I walk, I adjust my jacket to shield me from the cooling air. I adjust me. The scene will always change. How can I possibly think that it will stay the same? I am not the same. I make the changes in me that allow me to stay in the changing scene. I move myself across the path, following the curves and avoiding the beach debris. Before, I never considered how amazing this ability within me actually is. Now I am aware and grateful. So much goes on within me that I am unconscious to.
What an amazing, resilient being I am!
At times I look down and find treasures along the path. Tiny, beautifully formed shells in vivid colours. Fragile and perfect, until an idle step shatters them. Some things will not survive on our walk through life. We are bound to fracture something along the way. Nature forgives by supplying abundance. I give thanks for the abundance. I forgive generously and earnestly.
I look up and see the expanse of sky. Even the horizons are not the end. There is more. So much more. I could feel small and unseen in the vastness, but I feel held and loved. I am part of this wondrous creation and loved as much as the tiniest shell. I see the purpose and the plan for even the smallest of creatures. Each life interlocking in exquisite precision. Without one, the cycle cannot sustain itself. I long to have all of mankind see this picture; this connection.
The wind has blown patterns in the sand. The bits of drift wood hold similar patterns. The sand ploughs weave their hieroglyphic messages in the wet sand. There is a pattern for all beings. We are part of an intricate tapestry. The thread that holds us all together is the breath of life. We are encapsulated in the same pod of earth. Sustained by the same light and Source.
The reflections of the mountains and the clouds shine in the water washed beach. The earth reflects the sky. The sky reflects the earth. Heaven and Earth. Ying and Yang, Good and Difficult. Ease and Challenge. It is all one. The separation is in our seeing of it.
I turn to walk back, my footprints still showing along some of the journey. I try to walk inside my step. My haltering steps are laboured. I cannot place my feet in the same mark without walking backwards and looking over my shoulder. This is ridiculous and makes me laugh. I stumble and fall. In life why would I consider trying to retrace my old steps? They do not fit me anymore. I cannot walk them with the same sense of trust and ease. I have to concentrate so much on each step in order to “get it right”, that I cannot enjoy the journey. The unrealistic expectation could leave me disappointed and unfulfilled, if this was a serious walk-for-life.
Luckily for me, I can choose to even dance some of the way. I step and leap, swirl and sway, leaving a myriad of different prints to show the movement of flow and ease. My spirits are lifted and I feel as light as the seagulls that swoop overhead. I have moved a great distance and haven’t even been aware of labour. My dancing feet have freed me from the stilted, restricted, concentrated, self-imposed labouring walk. I choose to dance more.
It is the end of the meander now and I look back over the path and feel a sense of light and satisfaction for giving myself this time of life. I have moved over rocks, hard and soft sinking sand, and I have adjusted to each change and moved on. The wind has blown and it has been hot at times. Still, I danced and laughed and I will keep on dancing and laughing, even when my footprints can no longer be seen by others. I know that I have participated regardless of the visible impression left behind. That has made all the difference to me.
